Newham College’s Centre for Innovation and Partnerships (CIPs) specialises in providing the skills training that industry needs. We do this through educational, practical and business support courses for local companies at all stages of their development, helping them get established, grow, and build upon their existing success.
CIPs’ close links with the fashion, textile, jewellery and other creative industries has made the development of relevant short specialised training courses a particular strength.
Short courses are a great opportunity to develop industry-specific skills. They are based around particular training needs rather than the provision of a more general education and can kick-start your career or provide the ideal push to develop your career further. The knowledge acquired on our short courses will be relevant to the fast paced environment of the fashion and textiles industry.
New businesses often need advice and support when they are starting out. Through our links with the industry, we are able to provide business mentors for new businesses.
Mentoring: enables you to run your business yourself. Mentors are usually industry experts who will offer advice specific to your business. The mentoring programme enables the recipient to seek support and invaluable knowledge from a specialist industry insider. Such support will equip you with the confidence and knowledge needed to make changes and encourage your business to grow. Industry understanding from an insider is very useful. Their hands on experience will give you the edge when it comes to getting the most out of your business.
